The Point

My portfolio and The President

THE STOCK MARKET DOESN’T CARE ABOUT YOUR POLITICS!

In order to be an equity investor in the great companies of the United States and of the World, a person MUST be able to handle short term volatility. Often we mistake INACTION with LAZINESS. Often the best thing you can do for your retirement portfolio is NOTHING. There is NO RELIABLE DATA to tell us that you should completely alter your allocation when a republican or a democrat is elected.

Being aware of new policies that will be written is often prudent for certain areas of your portfolio. Trying to time the market based on the next president is however usually not the best idea.
